There have been recent reports of home alarm systems either alerting residents to fires or preventing the blazes entirely. The safety of a person's home and their family could rely upon whether they have one of these installed in their residence.
In the case of one Shafter, California resident, the person was alerted to fire blazing in their residence by their home security company, BakersfieldNow.com reported. The resident of the home was able to escape uninjured thanks to the monitoring service.
A fire was prevented entirely in a London home thanks to a monitored alarm system, Direct Response Security said. An un-extinguished cigarette was about to cause a fire when the home's owner received a call from her security company about smoke being detected on her property.
Direct Response Security managing director David Price said "this incident once again underlines the importance of a monitored alarm system. A monitored security system provides 24-hour protection, regardless of whether someone is at home or not."
It's important to discuss all home security options available with an expert when deciding what system is best suited for a person's home.
