The attempted break-in occurred at the Castle Self-Storage facility in Braintree, Massachusetts. The suspect broke the front glass door of the building, and then tried to pry open the doors of two interior units with a hammer.
That activity set off a burglar alarm at the facility, and the suspect quickly fled without taking anything, and was gone when police arrived on the scene a few minutes later. The facility had been closed since 7 p.m. that evening.
Police added that while the suspect has not been apprehended, he was caught on security cameras at the facility, and officers were able to get an accurate picture of the suspect. Police described him as a man in his 30s.
Officials are also investigating another nearby break-in the same area the next day, the Boston Globe reports. The burglar broke into a home and pried open a safe in a bedroom closet - making off with several pieces of jewelry. No word if the two incidents are connected.
