01/26/2012 07:00am -- Chicago police are searching for a suspect who was caught on a North Side store's surveillance cameras smashing a window and stealing a laptop.

The man can be seen approaching a window in the store before throwing a rock through the glass and reaching in to steal a laptop, all in less than 20 seconds.

The Tech Central store had the laptop programmed to play ads for the business and various other videos on a TV monitor in the window, reported Chicago ABC affiliate WLS. The owners said that in the 14 months they've been at the location, they haven't had any problems.

"People walk by in the neighborhood, they like our sign and they like the website," Boris Umantsev, co-owner of Tech Central, said WLS. "Everybody's got a computer and everyone's got some sort of problem."

The burglary happened around 2:45 a.m. on January 23, and it was a few hours before police received a tip from an anonymous call about the crime.

Chicago reported more than 26,000 burglaries in 2010, according to FBI statistics.
