An Oregon man is rethinking his actions following a recent confrontation with a burglar at his home.
Fifty-year-old Ken Barrows recently received a 3 a.m. phone call from this home security company informing him that the burglar alarm in his detached garage had been tripped. A man had broken into the garage through a window, according to regional CNN affiliate KTVZ.
Barrows confronted the man in his garage, holding him at gunpoint for several minutes before the suspect opened the garage door and fled on foot. Barrows gave chase, and the man ran full-speed into a barbed-wire fence before eventually escaping. For his part, Barrows isn't sure he chose the best course of action that night.
"I think I would have waited for the police," he told KTVZ. "I should have just called the police first."
