Home security camera captures burglars stealing

Police in Pocahontas, Mississippi, are asking for a neighborhood's help after burglars were caught on a home security camera stealing from a residence.

The intruders were caught on tape on December 23, when three people drove into the victim's driveway in a black Lincoln and two went into the home to steal valuables. The security cameras taped the men breaking into the residence through a rear door, then taking a flat-screen television and other items to the getaway vehicle before leaving the scene, according to local CNN affiliate WAPT.

A neighbor, Donnie Hampton, told WAPT that the area has seen several other break-ins, and he too has been victimized.

"We've had trucks broken into here in the driveway, stole a computer that I had, said Hampton. "They also broke into my wife's car and just threw stuff all over the yard."

Police are now searching for suspects in connection with the crime, and hope the high quality surveillance video footage helps them.

Mississippi reported more than 30,000 burglaries in 2010, according to FBI statistics.
