Many home security companies offer a cellular conversion service that can convert an existing system into a wireless one.

Both parents work in a majority of families - even those with young children - meaning that many children may spend a significant amount of time alone. Census data shows that in 2009, more than 64 percent of children under 6 years of age lived in a household where all of their parents were working - an increase of more than 4 percent compared to 2005.
