Two men charged in Maine burglary

Two men were charged for a home invasion and robbery that occurred recently in Bowdoinham, Maine, after being tracked down in the woods close to the scene of the crime.

Thirty-year-old Jorge Santiago and 29-year-old Miguel Rodriguez were arrested after they allegedly broke into the home of Rodney Skipper around 3:30 p.m. on January 21.

“The suspects entered his home and demanded cash, marijuana and medications,” said Joel Merry, Sagadahoc County Sheriff. “One suspect held a razor to Mr. Skipper's throat before fleeing with both the money and the drugs.”

The Sagadahoc County Sheriff's Office, Richmond Police and Maine Warden Service reported to the scene of the crime to search for the two men and quickly arrested the suspects.

Santiago and Rodriguez are now being held on $10,000 bail each after being charged with robbery, terrorizing and criminal trespassing.

Maine reported more than 32,900 burglaries in 2010, according to FBI statistics.
