  • Police Apprehend Burglary Suspect

December 18, 2006 (Lakewood, NJ) – Police spotted a vehicle wanted in connection to a suspected burglary in Toms River about 3:45 a.m. Monday.

A Lakewood man was apprehended by Lakewood Police as he drove on Route 9, said Sgt. Guillermo Clarke.

Officer Erik Menck stopped the vehicle which had been described in a radio broadcast earlier, Guillermo said. The description of the vehicle and the driver matched the broadcast, police said.

Officer Summer Cunliffe assisted Menck in the stop.

The vehicle was stopped at Route 9 and Hurley Avenue, police said.

The suspect, a Lakewood man, was turned over to the Toms River Police Department, Guillermo said.
