- Supporting America's Troops
December 18, 2006 (Round Rock, TX) – Protect America, Inc. is a national home security company responsible for protecting over 248,000 American families. While the company only provides it's home security service to customers in the 50 U.S. states, the company's support of the troops protecting America goes far beyond our country's borders.
For nearly three years, Protect America, Inc. has been providing invaluable help and support to hundreds of U.S. soldiers and their families all over the world. Following September 11, all Americans were devastated by the attacks on our country and we all felt great sorrow and compassion for the families affected.
It wasn't long after 911 before the impact of that terrifying morning slowly started to have a direct impact on a lot more families around the country as our men and women in uniform were deployed into combat. For a company with nearly 300 employees, it was only a matter of time before Protect America had many workers with family members who were sent into battle. But rather than just supporting their own individual family members, Protect America and it's employees adopted over 200 soldiers, most of whom were a part of the 111th ASG, which is a local National Guard unit called into action with Protect America family and friends in the ranks.
Protect America employees exchanged letters with the soldiers they knew and the ones they didn't know making new friends and providing encouragement and strength for our brave men and women. The company also made sure to send the troops some of the amenities from home that we all take for granted every day. Over the past few years, Protect America has sent over 600 boxes of supplies such as razors, toothpaste, visine, chapstick, chips, gum, cookies, socks, batteries, and magazines.
The company usually sends over a shipment of supplies to various troops every three months but tries to focus on sending packages during the holidays when they need it the most. While the 111th ASG returned from a year of combat in Afghanistan in March, Protect America continues to support dozens of troops in Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt, Kosovo and other parts of the world. This year for Christmas, each soldier that has been adopted by Protect America received 3 boxes filled with supplies and gifts.
If you are wondering just how much the troops appreciate this generous support from folks they don't even know, a stroll through the Protect America headquarters in Round Rock, TX will quickly put your mind at ease. The bulletin boards normally reserved for company announcements are filled with letters, cards, and pictures from dozens of troops thanking everyone at Protect America for their proud support.
If you know anyone that is deployed overseas and would like to nominate them to the list of soldiers that Protect America has adopted, please send an email to lori@protectamerica.com with the soldier's name and address.
