- Teen charged as adult in home invasion case
February 09, 2007 (Middleton, PA) – A Media teen has been charged as an adult for his alleged involvement in a Middletown home invasion, orchestrated to collect a $200 drug debt, authorities said.
Marcus Williams, 17, was arraigned Thursday before Senior Magisterial District Judge Leonard M. McDevitt. According to the arrest affidavit, he was identified as having stabbed a 17-year-old male, who was at home with a younger brother when four invaders arrived at their Rampart East home, about 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 26.
Alden Embree Wise, 18, of Media, has already been charged in the case. Both Williams and Wise are charged with aggravated assault, robbery and related offenses. Two juveniles are also facing similar offenses in juvenile court.
The 17-year-old resident has also been arrested, charged as a juvenile with possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, according to authorities.
The brothers recognized Wise and one of the juveniles when they appeared at their home, court documents state. Wise gave a statement explaining his involvement in the assault, saying he went to get money owed to him for drugs.
The 17-year-old suffered multiple stab wounds during an altercation inside the house, according to court documents. He has since gone public to apologize for getting involved with drugs. Wise was also injured in the altercation. Troopers were already at Crozer interviewing the 17-year-old when Wise showed up in the emergency room, accompanied by two juvenile suspects.
Wise and two of the juveniles were apprehended that same day, following a brief chase, and the fourth suspect was apprehended a short time later in Aston.
Trooper Robert S. Kirby, of the PSP Crime Unit, is lead investigator.
