  • Three teens arrested for home invasion

March 12, 2007 (Danville, IL) –

Danville police have arrested three teens for the March 1 home invasion of an elderly woman. Deputy Director Doug Miller said the teens – who are not being identified because they are 14, 15 and 16 – were arrested Thursday afternoon on preliminary charges of home invasion, armed robbery and aggravated battery to a senior citizen.

They were being detained at the Vermilion County Juvenile Detention Center on Friday, Miller said.

Police are still investigating the home invasion, which took place at the house of a 78-year-old woman in the 1500 block of East English Street.

According to a report, the woman told police that four juveniles forced their way into her house, knocked her down and took money. Then they fled the scene.

The woman remains hospitalized at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, Miller said. He did not know her condition on Friday.

"This had people out in that neighborhood quite concerned," Miller said.

He added police hope to make additional arrests.
