  • Oakwood residents warned about burglaries

June 06, 2007 (Oakwood, OH) – The Oakwood Safety Department on Tuesday advised residents to increase their awareness of home security following recent overnight burglaries on the city's south side.

Investigations suggest the suspect or suspects may be spending "a significant amount of time inside the house while the residents are home," the statement said.

Burglaries occurred May 28 and June 4, police Capt. Dave Lantz said.

The department advised residents to make sure doors and windows are locked, and to consider leaving exterior lighting on around their homes.
