  • Authorities arrest 2 in home burglary

June 12, 2007 (La Canada Flintridge, CA) – A man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of residential burglary after deputies responded to a prowler call Monday, officials said.

Fareed Parker, 21, and the juvenile, whose name is being withheld because of his age, were arrested on suspicion of burglary at 10:45 a.m. on Gould Avenue near Foothill Boulevard, said Crescenta Valley sheriff's Lt. Greg Sisneros.

Sheriff's officials responded minutes earlier to a call from a resident in the 5400 block of Arroyo Summit Drive reporting two prowlers in the neighborhood driving away in a silver Cadillac, Sisneros said.

The caller reported one of the men was hiding in the back yard while the other rang the front doorbell, he said.

A deputy searching the area noticed two males matching the suspect description driving a silver Cadillac, as reported by the callers, and pulled it over, said Sisneros.

Inside the car, burglary tools and a pillowcase containing jewelry and a computer were discovered, Sisneros added.

While booking the suspects, deputies were able to trace the jewelry and computer to a recently burglarized home only blocks away from the initial prowler call, said Sisneros.
