  • Break-in at home of state Rep. Seifert

July 17, 2007 (Marshall, MN) – The home of Minnesota's House minority leader was broken into while he was on vacation.

Representative Marty Seifert and his family returned home to Marshall after a three-day vacation to find their home had been broken into.

Seifert says he doesn't think the break-in was politically motivated. He says police told him there has been an increase in break-ins in the community.

Among the thing stolen, Seifert said, were a piggy bank containing $15 to $20 and some of his wife's jewelry.

He said it appears the burglars got into the house through a window that was left open, kicked in a screen, and then left through the deck area of the home.
