  • Couple held at gunpoint during home invasion

August 23, 2007 (Springdale, AR) – A late night home invasion in Springdale left a couple scared for their lives. They were held at gunpoint while the suspects took cash and medications.

The lock on the door wasn't keeping the suspects from coming in, holding the couple at gunpoint, and taking their belongings.

Springdale Police Sgt. Shane Pegram said, "On Tuesday evening, August 21st at about 10pm Springdale officers responded to 908 Mockingbird in reference to a report of an aggravated robbery that occurred."

Two hours earlier, the alleged suspects forced their way into a Springdale couple's home on Mockingbird Lane.

"..and had, at gunpoint demanded medications, drugs, money, and a few other miscellaneous items. At one point one of the suspects took the male victim into another part of the house at which time he handed over some medications and some other things that the suspect asked for." said Sgt. Pegram.

That's when the suspects left, leaving the victims shocked and frightened.

"The suspects are described as late teens, early 20s, white males. They had scarves around their mouths to cover some of their face and they were also armed. They're described as approximately 5'10 tall, 150-160." said Pegram.

Investigators say home invasions are rare in the area.

"Home invasions are actually quite rare, especially in a community like this and we'd like to keep it that way." said Pegram.

The event lasted for only minutes after the door was bust open, but it left a lasting impact on the victims-they've already decided to move from their home.

If you have any information on this home invasion call the Springdale Police Department.
