November 01, 2007 (Jacksonville, FL) – A 20-year-old man was fatally shot after a suspected home invasion robbery in Arlington late Wednesday night.

Around 11 p.m., a group of people were having dinner with the door open in the Carousel Luxury Apartments at 2929 Justina Road when a group of masked men came in with guns and demanded money, said Sgt. T.K. Waters of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office's homicide unit.

There was a struggle and Jose Domingo Vasquez was taken to Shands Jacksonville hospital where he was pronounced dead. Another man was shot and was taken to Shands in stable condition.

Waters said the attackers fled in a white pickup truck.

The scene was quiet about 9 this morning and no investigators remained. The apartment unit was open and the group's meal of tortillas, rice and beans could be seen. A blue liquid was spilled all over the kitchen and cardboard covered portions of the floor.

Anyone with any information can call First Coast Crime Stoppers at (866) 845-TIPS or the Sheriff's Office at (904) 630-0500.

This is the 127th homicide this year in Jacksonville. There were 119 at the same time last year.
