  • Fort Worth woman shot in face during home invasion

November 20, 2007 (Fort Worth, TX) – Fort Worth police were searching Tuesday for two suspects in a home invasion that left a 24-year-old woman hospitalized after she was shot in the face.

Police were called to a house at the corner of East Vickery Boulevard and Court Street in East Fort Worth about 9 p.m. Monday. A woman, who had been hiding in a closet with another woman and some children, told police that two people had kicked down the door and demanded money and jewelry.

While she was on the phone, the witness told a dispatcher that shots had been fired and someone was hit.

The 24-year-old victim was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital, where she was in critical condition.

The victim knew at least one of the attackers. Robbery was the motive, Lt. Dean Sullivan said.

Anyone with information should call the robbery unit at 817-392-4370 or CrimeStoppers at 817-469-8477. Callers may remain anonymous.
