  • Police Need Help Solving Burglaries

January 31, 2006 (Farmington, MO) – The Farmington Police Department is looking for information which might help solve several burglaries which occurred over the weekend.

Chief of Police Rick Baker said the department investigated more than a half dozen different commercial burglaries on Monday. It's believed the thefts and property damage was done sometime between Saturday and early Monday morning.

In most cases the burglars damaged a door or window to gain entry into the building, then rummaged through stuff and took small items. In one instance two laptop computers were stolen, making that theft a felony.

Baker said forced entry was found at all the locations. At one business the interior connecting walls to two adjoining businesses were damaged to gain entry into those businesses. Damage to the buildings outweighed the value of any items stolen in most of the burglaries.

"We did find some evidence. We found some footprints. But we're asking that anyone who might have seen some suspicious activity near a business over the weekend give us a call. Our nightshift road officers will be talking to people," Baker added.

Anyone with information or possible leads in the burglaries is being asked to call the police department at (573) 756-6686.
