#5 on our summer perfect playlist for a road trip is an instrumental beat that will have you loosing track of time on the ride to your destination. This Scottish pop artist will definitely have you groovin’. Listen to “Road Trip” by Darius.

#6 on our mix is a modern take of a classic song by the 1960’s rhythm and bluesman, Percy Mayfield. The song became famous after it was recorded by singer-songwriter-pianist Ray Charles with The Raelettes vocalist Margie Hendricks. The tune is “Hit the Road Jack” by Trippynova.

#7 is by one of the most successful American new wave bands to emerge in the late 1970’s. The name of the band says it all as you hit the road with your friends, or family, or both. This track will have you singing along. It’s “Let’s Go” by The Cars.

#8 on the list will hit you sometime mid-road trip, depending on how far you’re driving. This is definitely a shout out to all our Texan friends! Guy Clark was born in Monahans, Texas and eventually settled in Nashville, where he helped create the multiple country genres. His song “L.A. Freeway” helped launch his career…and was eventually covered by numerous performers.

#9 on the playlist is another classic oldie that will turn your road trip into a scene right out of a movie. Born in 1926, Chuck Berry was an American guitarist, singer and songwriter, and one of the pioneers of American rock and roll music. Just play this tune and you’ll be smiling the rest of the drive!
